Today's lawyers have more opportunities than ever to be on the front lines of important policy decisions that benefit our communities. At Seton Hall Law, classes are conducted in small groups, guided by professors who put students in the role of practicing attorney to approach legal problems from intellectual, strategic, emotional and ethical perspectives.
At Seton Hall Law, you’ll see life as a practicing lawyer. Get courtroom experience through clinic hours and other pro bono service opportunities. Experiential opportunities like these are available to students considering careers in all areas of law, not just the public interest sector. Immerse yourself in core JD subjects, skills, values and professional requirements that form the basis of American law:
Seton Hall boasts a 98% total employment rate with 94.3% in positions in which passage of the bar exam is required, or a JD is an advantage.
52.2% of JD graduates enter judicial clerkships while 26.6% enter private practice, two of the most common career paths for the Class of 2018.
“Each student in your class comes with a different story, and no two of you will write the same chapter about law school. Many of you know exactly what kind of lawyer you want to be, and some of you will still have that dream when you graduate. Others will have found a new passion because of a class or clinic, or because the world changes between now and the time you start your career.
Whatever your life story, your aspirations, or your challenges during law school, you will find administrators and faculty who guide you in writing the outline for the professional life that inspires you. Your career is a lifetime in the making, and will be uniquely yours."
